…And we’re back! In this episode, James and I review the rest of our top lessons from 2020. (If you missed Part 1 of this series, check it out here.)
While this past year had its fair share of ups and downs, we cannot deny the endless opportunities to learn and the immense growth and personal development that took place. We’ve spent a lot of time discussing how changes and challenges help make us stronger and more resilient. They open important doors in the realm of personal and professional development. It’s what you do in the face of change and challenge that really determines the trajectory of the outcome.
“It’s never about being this perfect human being. And I think that we will always fall off the horse and make mistakes, but it’s about the bounce back.” -James Williams
While we’re excited to be back and share our thoughts and lessons from this year, we encourage you to think about the lessons you’ve learned. To consider how you’ve grown. Whether some of your biggest lessons are the same as ours or not, we hope that in sharing these, you can head into the new year with actionable steps that will prepare you to step into your dreams in 2021. So, as you listen, consider what you can take away from our lessons and how they can inspire you to take action in your own life.
Because that’s what it’s all about, right? Taking action? If James and I went through this whole year, especially the challenges, and chose not to do anything differently, chose not to make any changes, chose not to face the realizations or have honest conversations with ourselves and others, our business wouldn’t be thriving in the way it is today. We wouldn’t be fulfilled in the ways we are today.
So, listen as we not only share more lessons from 2020 but how we took actions (or plan to) and made changes for the better. We encourage you to do the same because life is all about learning and growing. 2020 was a great reminder that, while we can’t control what life will throw at us, we can control how we respond to it.

Quotes:
“Deep down, we always know what it is that we actually want and what feels aligned for us, but we can get so sucked into what other people are doing, or what we think we should be doing, or what our parents told us we need to do or be, and it really takes us off [our] path. And one of the things I think people can do to really check-in is just ask yourself, am I in alignment?” -Emily Williams
“It’s never about being this perfect human being. And I think that we will always fall off the horse and make mistakes, but it’s about the bounce back.” -James Williams
“As the years come to us in the future, we don’t know what’s going to be thrown at us. We don’t know what challenges the world is going to face. The one thing you always have control over is how you respond to it.” -James Williams
