Sometimes you have high hopes, big dreams… and no idea where to start. We’ve all been there. For some of us, we have a deep rooted fear of failure that keeps us stuck in procrastination mode. For others, it’s fear of success that prevents us from moving forward. We worry what people will think if we actually achieve what it is we set out to, and how other areas of our lives will be impacted – for better or for worse.
“That’s what’s going to attract people to you because you have such a heart for this work. So if you keep displaying that, you know, and expressing the vulnerability, that’s one of your super powers because you care so much and you’ve paved the way, and you’re doing it, and people will be so attracted.” – Emily Williams
Much of the time, we’re simply so passionate about what it is we’re working towards that we can’t seem to see the steps we need to take to get there. In this instance, sometimes all we need is a good conversation with someone who’s not in the thick of it and can help us break it down into bite size chunks so we can start taking action.
If you relate to any (or all!) of the above, then you are going to love this podcast episode, which is a real life coaching call with Jada Hartfield. She’s a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army who is currently working on answering her calling of my passion of helping and inspiring other women who want to go into the military.
In this episode, I help her get clarity on her next steps so that she can turn her vision into a reality, and there are tons of takeaways to help you do the same. We talk mastering your message and your mission statement, why vulnerability is a superpower when it comes to connecting with clients, and how to get your partner on board as you pursue your purpose. It’s time to stop dreaming, and start doing.
In this episode…
Why how you do one thing is how you do everything
Fear or failure vs. fear of success
How to get your partner to see your vision
How to create a coaching container step-by-step
How to break projects into bite size pieces
How to nail your mission statement
The power of visualization
Why vulnerability is a superpower
Quotes:
“So people will feed off of our energy. And so you need to be strong in what you know is your desire and your purpose, and continue to have confidence in that.” – Emily Williams
“We just need to be putting the steps in place and taking that action. And what it takes is you coming back to the vision and why you’re actually doing this, because I know you’re very passionate about helping women and you have a unique perspective and life experience. That means you might be the only one who can help them. And right now you’re kind of dragging your feet, worrying about this man who’s probably going to get on board anyway.” – Emily Williams
“Really start to think about how you want to set up the website. Do you want to buy a template? Do you want it? Do you have photos? What about writing the copy so that you can get that in the works and then you clearly are already attracting people. So if you have a shell of a program, what is it going to take for you to start charging for that and putting it out there in a big way.” – Emily Williams
“So you just owning what you just said, that you’re the girl that helps women get into the military, whether they’re aspiring or they’re already in and like, you know, period… it’s just super direct. So I would really think about, you know, what is that bold statement? That one sentence statement. It could even be what I just said. And that’s what you share every time you get on video or you do a post about yourself, we’re repeating that one line so that people really will solidify that in their mind.” – Emily Williams
“That’s what’s going to attract people to you because you have such a heart for this work. So if you keep displaying that, you know, and expressing the vulnerability, that’s one of your super powers because you care so much and you’ve paved the way, and you’re doing it, and people will be so attracted.” – Emily Williams
