Happy Monday!
I hope you had a great weekend!
I’m currently prepping for the launch of our new group program. Look for more info in your inbox this week!
A few days ago, I was challenged like never before. I filmed my first ever video series – and it was five parts long!
For someone who has barely hosted a webinar, this was a bit of a learning curve, and according to James, I looked like I was going to throw up or kill someone for most of the day.
I’m in love with teleclasses, but being in front of the camera is a whole other ballgame.
The thing is, I could have played it safe and done a webinar in front of my computer screen in the comfort of my office, or I could have just done one video for that matter – but that’s not how I roll, lovely.
I wanted something that would challenge me and take I Heart My Life to the next level for this launch.
And believe me, it most definitely did!
But I didn’t let my fears stand in the way. I knew I had to get my message out into the world. I knew that after this first time, it would get easier.
If you’re anything like me, there are times when you have a desire in your heart, but thoughts begin to creep in and make you wonder whether you can actually do it. Or maybe you have irrational fears that you know are absolutely ridiculous but you let them run the show anyway.
We all have those moments.
However, I don’t know about you, but my success hasn’t come without effort. It hasn’t come without taking chances. It hasn’t come without following my heart – despite the fear trying to stop me.
In one of my favorite books, The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks, the author describes fear as “excitement without breath”. I love that phrase.
So often our fears aren’t really valid and recognizing them as the mind trying to keep us safe (and small) makes them go away. And sometimes all you need is to take a deep breath and let go of that fear.
One of my mentors once told me that unless there’s a sabertooth tiger about to attack me, my fears most likely aren’t real.
Of course it’s not always comfortable trying something new, but should those emotions really be classified as fear?
There are so many moments in my life where that fear has tried to stop me. It’s tried to keep me small. It’s tried to keep me boring – but I didn’t let it.
So today, if you’re allowing your own fears or insecurities to run the show – don’t let them. You have the power to do whatever it is that you desire and to follow your dreams.
You can start your own business, help clients from around the world, host an incredible teleclass, write a mind-blowing Facebook ad, work with Oprah and create a best-selling book.
You can do it all – despite the fear.
After all, you have gifts that no one else has. You were born to do work that only you can do, and it’s your duty to put it out into the world…
Looking forward to seeing what you were born to create, lovely!
