Hello! Welcome to I Heart My Life – so happy to see you here! This is the first of many, many musings to come. You gotta start somewhere, right?
This weekend I spent a gorgeous, sunny Saturday and Sunday inside at the Ignite! conference put on by Hay House Publishers. I got to meet the seriously amazing Mastin Kipp from The Daily Love and was delighted to discover that he’s even kinder and more down to earth in real life! I chatted with him briefly after his talk and handed him my business card admitting that I’ve always felt that TDL and IHML are going to be involved in some sort of collaboration one day! I think he believed me…! But back on topic!
One of the speakers, Pam Grout (check out her brilliant book E-Squared) struck a cord with me when she mentioned that every morning, she says (out loud), “Something amazingly awesome is going to happen today”. I was so in love with her ritual that this morning, I decided to utter those eight little words, and I found myself saying them over and over and truly believing them. (Seeing that it’s 6pm now, I can tell you that it worked!
To sum up this amazing awesomeness, I may have landed a new client, got a handful of new Twitter and Facebook followers, my cousin exclaimed her love for my website and told me that she and her 20-something friends are pumped about my company, website, and are already dreaming BIG, and to top it all off, Marie Forleo’s B-School starts today which will be a total game-changer for IHML!)
In a world where the first thing we normally do in the morning is check Facebook or our email, how about we take a less from the wise Ms. Grout and say a single positive and powerful sentence out loud instead?
There’s no need to read a crummy email from your boss the moment you open your eyes or check out Instagram only to discover what your friends had for dinner the night before – all of that can wait! Starting your day with a powerful thought, affirmation, or statement is so much more of what we need!
And if you’re at a loss for words, just say, “I’m going to fall in love with myself and my life today!”.
