Step 1: Rate Your Happiness in Key Life Areas
Start by rating your happiness in the following areas of life on a scale of 0–10:
✨ Career and Professional Success
✨ Financial Security and Freedom
✨ Relationships
✨ Health and Well-Being
✨ Lifestyle and Environment
✨ Personal Growth
✨ Legacy and Impact
✨ Spirituality and Meaning
Why it matters: This step provides clarity and a strong foundation for the rest of the exercise. Don’t fear the numbers—embrace them. Even if you’re not where you want to be, this is your starting point.
💡 Remember: Each area impacts the others, so improving in one can create positive ripple effects across your life.
Step 2: Reflect on Each Area
For each category, ask yourself:
- What would improve my number?
- What do I actually want?
- What am I tolerating?
- Who am I jealous of/who do I admire?
Why it matters: These questions cut through societal or outdated expectations to uncover what you truly desire. They’ll help you redefine success on your terms.
Step 3: Identify Your Limiting Beliefs
Ask yourself: What’s holding me back from moving towards my vision?
Why it matters: If you don’t believe something is possible, you won’t pursue it. Acknowledging fears and limiting beliefs allows you to reframe and overcome them.
💡 Tip: If you’re unsure what’s blocking you, move to Step 4—your fears will naturally emerge when you think about taking action.
Step 4: Take Aligned Action
What’s one action you can take to move toward your goals this year?
Why it matters: A vision without action is just a dream. Taking even small steps builds momentum and reveals the next ones. Plus, this is where doubts and fears surface, giving you an opportunity to work through them.
Step 5: Plan January (Not the Whole Year!)
Focus on the steps you’ll take in January for the areas where your happiness scores were lower.
Why it matters: Planning one month at a time keeps the process manageable and reduces overwhelm. With consistent action, your vision will unfold naturally throughout the year.
