How Money Mindset Gave Me the Resilience to Thrive Through Life’s Storms

Leopard Wallet with Change

This week, I hosted a new Money Mastery Masterclass, and something about it felt different.

For the first time, I shared a new version of my money story—one that’s been years in the making.

If you’ve been in my world for a while, you might know the “$442-to-seven-figures” story I’ve often shared. It’s a chapter of my journey I’m proud of, but I’ve realized that I’m not just that person anymore.

My story has grown, deepened, and evolved through new challenges and lessons.

Over the past few years, life has thrown curveballs my way: a business crisis, a significant financial loss, selling our home, and moving back to my hometown. These were some of the hardest moments I’ve ever faced.

While I’m still healing, I can honestly say that the money mindset work I’d done before these events became the foundation I leaned on to make it through.

This work didn’t just help me create abundance when life was good—it gave me the resilience to stay grounded, hopeful, and determined when life felt anything but easy.

This is why I’m so passionate about money mindset and personal development.

Yes, it can open doors to wealth and freedom, but it also equips you with the strength to face life’s storms. Because let’s be honest—life isn’t always smooth sailing. And when challenges arise, a strong, empowered mindset allows you to rise above them.

Through my own experience, I learned that the hardest moments can become opportunities to grow, evolve, and create an even stronger version of yourself.

Turning Pain into Purpose

I’ve always believed in the idea of turning pain into purpose, but going through my own storm brought a whole new depth to that belief. I’ve used these experiences to connect with my clients and community in ways I never could have before.

For example, recently, a friend reached out during a tough time in her business and asked me how I made it through my darkest moments. Her question reminded me of how far I’ve come—and how much I want to help others find their way through challenges too.

Today, I want to share with you the five strategies that made the biggest difference for me.

1️⃣ Face the Fear

In the middle of all this, I had to ask myself some hard questions:

  • What is it that I’m truly afraid of?
  • What is the worst-case scenario?

For me, that meant confronting the idea of losing everything—our home, our business, and the financial stability I’d worked so hard to build. And you know what I discovered? Even if the worst happened, I’d still have what matters most: my family, my friends, and my knowledge. I could rebuild from there.

This perspective didn’t erase the fear, but it definitely lessoned it.

2️⃣ Find Meaning in the Pain

To keep moving forward, I decided to look for meaning in the chaos. Why was this happening? What lessons was I being called to learn? I realized that this chapter, as painful as it was, was a part of a bigger story just like the chapters before it had been—a story of resilience, growth, and rediscovering what truly mattered.

3️⃣ Remind Yourself of the Truth

I leaned into my money mindset work even more, reminding myself daily that:

  • The money is always there.
  • I am always protected.
  • There is always a way forward.

These beliefs became my lifeline, giving me the strength to face each challenge one step at a time and to avoid slipping into lack thinking as much as possible.

4️⃣ Ask for Help

I was honest with trusted friends and family members during my darkest moments and asked for help. I was referred to experts and amazing people who knew more than me and were able to help us get back on track.

5️⃣ Remember You Strengths

If you’re facing your own storm right now, I want you to know that you will get through this. Life isn’t static, and no situation lasts forever. You have the tools, the strength, and the resilience to navigate this season—and to come out the other side even stronger. Other people have made it through, and you will too!

Your Next Steps

If you’re navigating your own storm right now, here’s what I encourage you to do today:

  1. Identify Your Fears: Write down the worst-case scenario and walk yourself through it step by step. You’ll often find it’s not as scary as it seems.
  2. Look for the Lesson: Ask yourself, “What can I learn from this moment?” Shifting your perspective can transform the way you experience challenges.
  3. Take One Brave Step: Whether it’s asking for help, addressing your finances, or simply acknowledging how you feel, small steps create momentum.

If this resonates with you, I want to invite you to take the next step. My Money Mastery Masterclass is still available through this evening. In it, I share the tools and strategies that helped me through my own journey, and I’d love for you to experience it too.

Lately, I’ve been having a lot of conversations about how to get the results you want. One thing that keeps coming up—especially in my own journey—is this: success comes from continuously showing up for yourself. I know for a fact that I take more action than most people. That also means I probably fail more. In fact, I definitely do.  […]

This week, there was a theme across the board with my clients: Allowing fear to hold them back from what they really want and from showing up to a greater degree. Maybe you can relate… How many times have you had an idea—a really good one—and told yourself, “I’ll do it later”? Maybe you’ve been meaning […]

The past two weeks have been rough for my family. First, Charlotte got the flu. Then James. And finally, it hit me last Sunday. I’ve been in bed almost the entire week, canceling all my calls and responsibilities because I could barely function. I know so many people have been dealing with the flu this […]
