Growing up, I’d always looked up to my dad and my grandfather who were the entrepreneurs of my family, and from a young age I knew that I wanted to follow in their entrepreneurial footsteps.
I loved the idea of having the ability to define my own success, and I always appreciated the drive and dedication that had been modeled for me.
And honestly, ever since I made the decision to dive into entrepreneurship myself and go full speed ahead toward my dreams, I’ve not looked back. Becoming an entrepreneur, starting my own business, and working with extraordinary clients around the world has truly been a manifestation of my “something big” that I always knew I was meant for.
Yet as a savvy entrepreneur-minded woman yourself, I’m sure you know that being an entrepreneur isn’t always smooth sailing, and that sometimes things simply just don’t go as planned…
Life happens, and plans change.
And it’s important to not let overwhelm take over when things don’t align quite as expected.
Last week, my lovely grandfather passed away. It was sad news, yet I was grateful for the freedom that I have as an entrepreneur to be able to quickly adjust my schedule, shift my plans, and fly to Ohio to be there for my family and attend his funeral.
While remembering my grandfather, I was reminded of how important it is to pursue the life you want now – not later – because after all, we only get one shot at this life.
You see, not so long ago (when I was still in the midst of my quarter-life crisis) I used to believe that maybe if I just waited another five or ten years or so, then someday I’d finally have the life I wanted – someday when things are more aligned, someday when I have more money, or someday once I feel like I have my life more “together” – then I’d then be able to achieve my goals.
Or so I thought at the time…
But thankfully, I reached out to a coach who helped me realized that thinking in terms of “someday” was only keeping me stuck. I was limiting my present because I was just waiting around for my future.
So I made the decision then and there to stop waiting for someday to come, and I decided that my someday would be now – not when I was older.
And I’m so glad I did.
Because I stopped waiting and decided to go after my dreams now(no matter what it took), I’ve been able to create a life that allows me to travel when I want or need to, a business that I absolutely love that’s given me the chance to help empower women all around the world to go after dreams of their own.
Even my family members tell me how I’ve inspired them in ways I never expected. I’m now living a life that’s truly better than I ever dreamed was possible back when I was sitting there just hoping and waiting on someday to happen.
So lovely, maybe you’re at a place in your life or biz where you’re telling yourself “maybe someday”…
Well, I’m here to tell you that what you desire is possible now. You don’t have to wait around five or ten more years for life to finally get good. You have what it takes already inside of you to move forward with your dreams – sometimes it’s just about taking that first step and trusting that your journey will unfold as it should.
Being an entrepreneur has its ups and downs, but I truly wouldn’t trade it for the world. It’s been an incredible journey so far, and it’s amazing getting to wake up every day and support amazing women like you.
So, lovely, isn’t it time for you to start believing your dreams are possible sooner than later? This is your one shot at this journey called life, and it’s yours to make it whatever you desire.
