I’m so excited that the holiday season is upon us! As an American, I’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving this coming Thursday, and I have a lot to be thankful for this year!
One of the things I know for sure is that the only reason I am where I am today is because I reached out and got support from those who came before me.
Often times as independent women, we expect to be able to do everything ourselves – and for free.
We download free PDF after free audio after free webinar hoping to get some traction as we build our business.
Of course there can be some great material within that free content, but often times, it sends the wrong signal to the world, and that signal is FREE.
For some reason, investing in four years of university (without making any money!) is completely acceptable to the Western World, but reaching out, asking for help, and investing in your dreams as you start your own business isn’t.
Phooey on that.
I used to think the same, but believe me, if you’re going to move forward with your dreams, the smart thing to do is to reach out and ask for help from those who have come before you or have what it is that you want.
(Don’t worry – it may take a few mindset shifts to wrap your head around that!)
When I finally got that through my stubborn head (and realized I wasn’t born a successful female entrepreneur), it made all the difference in the world.
So today, here are a few steps you can take to make that happen:
Research: Start to research the people who have what you want. (Maybe you’ve noticed that you’re even jealous of them!) Who did they train with? How did they get to where they are today? In what ways do they live a different life than you? How do they think differently?
Path: Ask yourself what the quickest way to your dream life/business is. What does that path look like? What steps do you need to take? What programs interest you? What courses will take you where you want to go? Who will hold you accountable? Where will you get to connect with other like minded women?
Invest: You don’t have to shell out every penny you own at first – you can start small. But remember, the most important thing is to make the decision that you and your dreams are worth the time and money, and to show the world that you’re really doing this. Remember, if you want other people to invest in you, you have to invest in yourself!
Decide that you’re no longer going to be the woman who “dabbles”. You’re no longer going to take your foot on and off the gas. You’re meant for much more and your own something big!
And then go get it, lovely!
I believe in you, and you can do this.
Just keep moving forward and taking action on behalf of your dreams.
And believe me, it will be so worth it!
